This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our service. By using Dismegle, you agree to the terms described in this policy.

How we use your information
1. Match-making
User information such as chat history and selected interests will be used for match-making.
2. Analytics
Chat information collected is used for internal analytics and understanding user engagement to help improve our service.
3. Marketing purposes
We may use your interests for marketing purposes, however we do not directly share any of your data to third-parties.
3. User history
We save the chat information to provide the "/recent" command functionality, allowing users to view a list of everyone they've previously chatted with.
How we handle chat contents
When a chat is closed, either due to inactivity or when a user voluntarily leaves the chat, the associated Discord thread is promptly and permanently deleted, resulting in the removal of all messages and contents. It is crucial to note that this deletion is standard practice; however, there are exceptions under specific moderation circumstances:
1. User-initiated flag command
If the chat is flagged by a user via the "/flag" command, the contents of that particular chat, including its messages, will be preserved indefinitely and become accessible to our moderation team.
2. Automatic content moderation
If the chat is flagged by our content moderation system, the contents of the chat, including its messages, will be reviewed by moderators. If a violation is found, the chat's contents are stored indefinitely to be used as reference for user infractions. However, if no violation is found, the chat's contents will be promptly deleted.
How we disclose your information
We prioritize your privacy and do not share any user data, chats, or user information with third parties. While our staff can access the list of active chats and participants, only administrators have access to the contents of those chats while they are active.
How we protect your information
Your user and chat data are securely stored on our database, with restricted access by developers. We continuously monitor server security, implementing robust measures to ensure data integrity.
